BB Farms is a sheep farm dedicated to sustainable agriculture, livestock care, and quality sheep farming practices.
We have implemented a high-health program that includes vaccination, deworming, and reproduction programs (including breeding soundness evaluations). Additionally, our flock has tested negative for Johne's disease and Maedi Visna. Any sheep that are purchased, or brought back to the farm following the show are isolated and retested for Johne's and Maedi Visna prior to being re-introduced to the flock
We are members of Genovis and all of our sheep have been inputted into the Genovis system.

We use Ewe Manage for record keeping on all of our stock. We have an RFiD reader as well. You can't manage what you don't measure! A powerful software helping sheep and lamb producers to achieve the success of their operation and provide the best care possible for their flock. EweManage allows producers to improve profitablitly by measuring, esily recording data and utilizing reports.

We started our commercial flock in 2017, focusing on Purebred Canadian Arcotts by 2020. As of 2024, our flock consists mainly of Purebred Canadian Arcotts, some Commercial Ewes for the kids’ market lambs, and a few Purebred Charollais. We aim to improve our flock by adopting new techniques and technologies.
The Babbings-Bartlett Farm, now known as BB Farms, was established in 1969 by Leonard and Marion (McFayden) Babbings. Pam’s grandparents set down roots on SE-24-3-1-W2 after moving from a farm near Carnduff. Pam’s father, Larry, farmed alongside his parents, raising Purebred Charolais cattle under Babbings Charolais during the 1980s and 1990s. Eventually, they transitioned from Purebred Charolais to Commercial Cattle, primarily Angus x Charolais crosses.
As a small child, Pam’s favourite place was the farm. She cherished every opportunity for sleepovers and time spent there, always dreaming of returning to the farm one day. While in high school, Pam helped with delivering calves, baling hay, and assisting with seeding and harvest, as long as she didn’t have to climb grain bins. She was particularly close to her grandparents. After high school, Pam made the tough decision to leave university and return to the farm full-time, which allowed her to care for her grandparents and spend valuable time with them. After Grandpa passed away and Grandma moved into Sunset Haven, our family moved to the farm in 2011. Since the Babbings established it, and the Bartletts now live there, it made sense to name it Babbings-Bartlett Farm, which has since been shortened to BB Farms.
Pam was also involved in sheep 4-H, raising well-conditioned market lambs. Grandpa always made sure they were fed whenever he walked by, so they became quiet. Although Pam is unsure if Grandpa would have loved the decision to get into sheep, she is certain he would be happy to see the farm thriving and their children growing up there. Grandma absolutely loved calving season, and Pam is sure she would have enjoyed seeing the baby lambs.
Daniel’s farming history isn’t as extensive as Pam’s, but he spent his summers at his grandparents’ farm, the Bartletts. He is an incredible “chore boy,” and they are immensely grateful to have this beautiful haven to call home. They feel fortunate to raise their children on the farm and live out their everyday adventures together.
